Window / Level

A two-parameter contrast curve mapping pixel intensities to display values.

Window width is the range of intensities mapped to the full screen-grey range. Window center (level) is the midpoint of that range.

• Lung: W 1500 / L -600
• Mediastinum: W 350 / L 40
• Brain: W 80 / L 40
• Bone: W 1500 / L 300
