Anonymize a study

Profile → rule tweaks → burn-in redaction → export.

1. Enter Anon mode

Click Anon in the mode switch (or ⌘⇧A). The Anonymize screen replaces the viewer layout.

2. Pick a profile

Choose Basic, HIPAA Safe Harbor, Description, or Custom. The rule tree updates immediately.

3. Tweak rules

Override individual tag rules as needed. The profile is automatically marked Custom when you edit it.

4. Redact burned-in PHI

Switch to the Redact tool and draw rectangles over any visible identifiers (e.g. patient name burnt into ultrasound frames). Overlays are previewed in semi-transparent red.

5. Export

Press ⌘E. The diff modal shows tag changes and region masks. Confirm to write a de-identified copy.

Caution This workflow assists with anonymization but does not certify it. Manual review of the output is required before any external sharing.
