Export video
Save a multi-frame series or a stack as an MP4 or animated GIF clip.
Browser: available nowmacOS app: 1.4.0 or newer
Open Export → Export Video… with a series of two or more frames in a 2D view. Every frame is rendered at its native size with the current window/level, in frame order. Zoom and pan are not applied, and segmentations and structure sets are not drawn.
- MP4 (H.264) is the default. It plays in PowerPoint, Keynote, QuickTime and web browsers.
- MP4 (AV1) is offered only when the system’s video encoder supports it. AV1 files are smaller, but fewer presentation tools import them.
- Animated GIF is for slides and chat. It is limited to 300 frames and 1024 pixels on the long edge. A larger clip is refused, with the limit it exceeds.
The frame rate starts at the series’ stored rate, the same rate Cine playback uses. You can change it from 1 to 60 frames per second.
MP4 needs a WebCodecs video encoder. macOS 11 without Safari 16.4 or newer has none. The dialog then says why MP4 is unavailable and offers GIF only.
Include annotations draws your measurements onto the clip. Each frame shows only the annotations drawn on that frame, with the value the Annotations tab shows, on top of any pixel redactions. The option is off each time the dialog opens. Arrow labels and other annotation text are drawn exactly as typed, so check them for patient details before you share the clip.
In anonymize mode, the pixel redactions on the current frame are blacked out in every frame of the clip. Export waits while burned-in text detection is still running.
