Import files
Add DICOM files to the current session without replacing it.
Adds one or more DICOM files to the active session instead of starting over. Unlike Open — which replaces the workspace — Import merges the new instances into the current Study → Series → Instance tree, preserving your edits, undo history, and key-image marks.
How it behaves
- New series appear in the Files tab; the viewport stays on what you were reading, unless you import a presentation state (GSPS).
- An imported GSPS applies as it does when opened with its images: the viewport moves to its slice, with its window/level, zoom and graphics. An imported Key Object Selection document marks the key images it names among the loaded images.
- Instances already loaded (same SOP Instance UID) are skipped as duplicates.
- Importing files from a different patient prompts for confirmation first.
