Key Object Selection (KOS)
Build or edit a Key Object Selection document flagging significant images.
Problem
Within a multi-slice DICOM series, you need to flag specific slices as “key images” — the most representative or diagnostically significant frames that a referring physician or AI model should focus on. Key Object Selection creates a DICOM Key Object Selection Document (KOS) that references these selected images.
Steps
-
Open the DICOM file (⌘O) and navigate to the frame you want to mark.
-
Click MARK KEY in the StatusBar at the bottom of the viewport. The button toggles to KEY IMAGE, confirming the current instance is marked.
-
Click KEY IMAGE again to unmark it (returns to MARK KEY).
Expected Result
- The toggle switches between “MARK KEY” and “KEY IMAGE” states.
- Key images are tracked in the application state for export as a Key Object Selection Document.
- Multiple key images can be marked across a study.
- The button is rendered as
.kspans in the StatusBar.
