SeriesDescription rename
Rename a series so its description reflects the actual acquisition.
Problem
The scanner auto-generated a Series Description like “AX T2 FSE” but your institution’s protocol naming convention requires “Axial T2 FSE Brain”. Generic descriptions cause confusion in hanging protocols and make it harder for radiologists to identify the correct series in the PACS viewer. You need to rename the series to match your naming standards.
Steps

Open the file (⌘O) and switch to Edit mode (⌘3).

Filter for Series Description (0008,103E) and double-click to open the edit modal.

Enter the corrected description — e.g.
Axial T2 FSE Brain. The LO VR allows up to 64 characters. -
Click Save change and verify the gold highlighting.

If the tag doesn’t exist in the file, use the Add tag button in the metadata toolbar to create it, then set the value.
Expected Result
- Series Description displays the corrected value with gold highlighting.
- The dirty counter reflects the modification.
- The new description is visible in the Files tree panel (right rail) under the series entry.
